BENEFITS OF DOMESTIC SUPPLIER
When you buy your natural
stone products from NCGC, what happens to that money?
Of course, a good chunk
of it goes to our workers who quarry and manufacture your products.
A portion goes to the freight company that delivers it to your
site. Another portion goes to the schools and law enforcement
to help educate and protect your family.
Our Company and employees
pay taxes to fight terrorists. The freight company pays taxes
to maintain the Interstate Highways you use on your vacation.
Universities get a piece to help keep tuition fees reasonable
so you can send your kids to college.
What is the point of
all this?
If you buy
your natural stone products from a foreign country, none of the
above happens.
FLASH NEWS
In the fall of 2002,
the “unthinkable” happened. All the ports along the
west coast of the USA were closed due to a labor dispute. Is this
a great county or what?
For the next year,
the goods coming in through those ports was disrupted. If you
were a buyer of foreign products, and were counting on your delivery,
you were in deep kaw-kaw. Image if you were the architect on a
new office building being constructed and you were expecting granite
panels from a foreign fabricator. First of all, you probably had
to slow your schedule down anyway because of the normally slow
delivery from foreign vendors. Now you were likely to wait an
extra 6 months to a year to get your order. The image is even
more depressing if you were the installation sub-contractor. Are
there liquidating damages that you are responsible for? The law
suits will keep you occupied while you wait at the dock for your
ship to come it.
It does not
matter if you are coming through the West Coast, East Coast, Houston
or New Orleans—you need to factor in the “unthinkable—or
you could opt for better quality, faster delivery and a reliable
source right here in the good old USA.
