NCGC will offer a short video of our quarry and facilities in Mount Airy, North Carolina.

The video runs 4 minutes, and is intended as an introduction to both NCGC and the world of granite. It shows how we harvest granite blocks from the famous Mount Airy White granite quarry—the largest open faced quarry in the world. Operations have been going on here since 1743—well before the Revolutionary War.

While we use the facilities of NCGC in the video, the video is intended as generic coverage of how granite is quarried and processed into finished items. It is intended to be used by teachers in the classroom, building owners who want their friends to see how their new building was created, and by architects who are just beginning their career with natural stones.
